Please note this kb article is applicable only if you have opted for the remote backup addon, otherwise not as many of our vps or dedicated servers are self-managed backup at the client-side only and do not include backup addon in it.
If you have a vps or dedicated server with us and have remote backup addon on it then the backup policy is maintained as follows:
- All files/folders are backup generally once a day, and an automated report is sent to the customer's email id in our record.
- Mysql or MS-SQL database servers, if any, are backup once a day, and an automated report is sent to the customer's email id in our record.
- Earlier, 45 last backup retention policy was there, that means for the last 45 backup points, the backup shall be with us. However, 29th July 2021 onward our default policy is updated to 90 backup points on 29th July 2021. That means after 90 backup points are created, 91st one will be removed from the system.
Please note, due to the nature of digital services, it is highly recommended the client also manages their offsite backup at their end. Relaying 100% of remote backup is not suggested for technical reasons.
